Hello Hostyhellohosty.com

Get the Hosty app

Your whole desk on your phone. Its own icon, full screen, one tap from the home screen.

Hosty installs onto your home screen straight from your browser, in about a minute. It takes its own icon, opens full screen with no address bar, and it is the same Front Desk you use at your desk.

On your home screen

The Hosty app icon

Hosty

The icon you tap. No address bar, no browser tabs, just your desk.

The page opens on your phone with the right steps for it. About 2 minutes, start to finish.

Install, 3 steps

  1. Tap the Share button in the bar along the bottom in Safari, or at the top right in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. On newer iPhones Safari hides it behind the 3 dots in that bottom bar.

  2. Scroll the sheet and choose Add to Home Screen.

  3. Tap Add at the top right. The icon lands on the home screen.

After it is installed

  1. Open it from the new icon on your home screen, not from your browser.
  2. Sign in with your Hello Hosty username and password, in the app.
  3. Let your phone save the password, so getting back in is quick.
  4. Turn on alerts: in the app, open the menu, tap Notifications, then Turn on alerts, and choose Allow. New bookings, cancellations and guest messages then reach you even when the app is closed.

We only ask for your password on frontdesk.hellohosty.com. If any other page asks for it, it is not us.

The app keeps its own sign in.

Signing in in your browser does not sign you in inside the app, and the other way round. That is how phones treat installed apps, not a fault. Sign in once inside the app and let your phone remember it.

What you get

  • The calendar for every property
  • Rates and minimum stays
  • Add or cancel a booking
  • Every guidebook
  • Alerts for new bookings, cancellations and guest messages

If something snags

I cannot find Add to Home Screen

You are probably in the browser inside another app, such as Mail or WhatsApp. Open the page in Safari or Chrome itself. In Safari the Share button is in the bar along the bottom, and on newer iPhones behind the 3 dots in that bar. In Chrome, Edge and Firefox it is at the top right.

It keeps asking me to sign in

The installed app keeps its own sign in, separate from your browser. Sign in once inside the app with Keep me signed in turned on, and it stays signed in even when you close it. It only asks again if you have not opened it for 30 days, and always after 90 days. If it still forgets you, check your phone is not set to clear website data.

The icon opens Safari instead of the app

It was saved as a web shortcut rather than an app, which happens on an iPhone below iOS 16.4 and when the page had not finished loading. Hold the icon and remove it, open this page in Safari, let it settle, and add it again.

I did not get an alert

Alerts are turned on per phone, inside the app: open the menu, tap Notifications, then Turn on alerts, and choose Allow. On an iPhone only the installed app gets alerts, never a Safari tab. If you allowed them and still hear nothing, check the phone has not blocked Hosty: on an iPhone, Settings, Notifications, Hosty, Allow Notifications. The Notifications page in the app has a Send a test alert button to prove it.

How do I remove it

Hold the icon on your home screen and choose Remove App, then Delete. Your account and everything in it stay safe on Hello Hosty. You can add it again from this page any time.

Why is Hosty not in the App Store

It does not need to be. Hosty installs from your browser instead, which is why it takes about a minute rather than a download. What lands on your home screen is the app, and because there is no package sitting on your phone there is no update to install either: you always open the current version.
